News from this reporter (Reporter Liu Yunan) There are more than 3,000 centralized drinking water sources in towns and villages in our province. How is the safety of drinking water in rural areas? According to the water quality status of centralized drinking water sources in towns and villages reported by the Provincial Environmental Protection Agency on February 29, Chengdu 9 cities (prefectures), including Panzhihua, have a water quality compliance rate of more than 90% throughout the year, and the towns and cities of Zigong, Neijiang, Ziyang, Nanchong and other cities have a low compliance rate. At present, there are 24 inferior V township drinking water sources in the province, which will be completely eliminated by the end of this year. In order to strengthen the supervision of rural drinking water safety, since 2013, the province has carried out water quality monitoring of township centralized drinking water sources, once every six months. Last year, 20 cities (prefectures) other than Ganzi Prefecture carried out water quality monitoring of drinking water sources in towns and villages. The monitoring results show that in the first half of last year, 88.7% of the township drinking water sources met or exceeded water quality, of which river, lake, and groundwater sources reached 95%, 74.3%, and 88.4%, respectively; In the second half of the year, 87.4% of the township drinking water sources met or outperformed the water quality, and the compliance rates for river, lake, and groundwater sources were 93.2%, 74.1%, and 83.4%, respectively. From the perspective of the city (state), the township drinking water sources in 9 cities (states) such as Chengdu, Panzhihua, Deyang, Mianyang, Guang'an, Dazhou, Ya'an, Aba, and Liangshan have a water quality compliance rate of over 90% throughout the year. Zigong, Neijiang, The compliance rate of drinking water in towns and villages in Ziyang and Nanchong is relatively low. There are 110, 30, and 24 surface water sources in the province's category IV, category V, and inferior category V (all of which do not meet the standard), mainly distributed in 15 cities including Zigong, Nanchong, Neijiang, Bazhong, and Ziyang ( 43 counties (cities, districts). The relevant person in charge of the Rural Environmental Protection Department of the Provincial Environmental Protection Department believes that there is still a gap between the provincial drinking water compliance rate and the city. Why are the compliance rates of drinking water sources in some cities (states) townships and towns lower? The person in charge believes that, first, many rural areas in these cities (states) still use closed water sources such as pond weirs and small reservoirs, and lack upstream water. With the self-purification ability, the non-point source pollution in the surrounding rural areas has not yet been effectively controlled; the second is that these areas have not yet achieved integrated urban and rural water supply. It is necessary to optimize the adjustment structure and eliminate the difference between urban and rural water supply as soon as possible. "The areas with high drinking water compliance rates in towns and townships have basically achieved a unified urban and rural water supply. Rural draught and urban draught come from a set of pipe networks and a water supply system," he said. The 2016 implementation plan of Sichuan Water Ten is being formulated to include the elimination of inferior V-class township drinking water sources into local government assessment targets.
